Weve gotten into the groove with the fluids. We are being very optimistic and bought and entire case so I dont have to keep picking up one bag at a time. We had friends over the other night and they thought Momma was Katie she looked so good. It is so hard to believe she is as sick as she is. Some days she only allows me to get 100ccs in her rather than the full 200, but thats ok. Momma is in charge. She is also in charge of the couch. That has been true since the day she walked in our house.
So, in December of 97, this little puppy mill minpin came to live with us while she recuperated. I knew there was no way I was giving her up. Id already screwed up twice in letting people have her who did not care for her properly. With all shed been through for the first part of her life, I was not about to send her off again where things could go wrong. Staying with us meant she would get all the care and respect she demanded. I had to be careful and not let Scottie think I wanted to keep her. I had to put on the appearance I was actively looking for an adoptive home for her.
Mia also knew where she needed to live. From day one she found the pillow on our couch and that is where you can find her 9 times out of 10. All of our other dogs somehow knew shed been through horrible things and they kept a respectful distance. If they did get too close, Momma sure had no problem in telling them to back off! From her debarking at the mill she had a gruff voice and it was so cute to hear her fussing at the dogs or us.
